A message from Principal Leung

“Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

I have great news for our school community!

The building remediation team continued working on the parts of the building that were affected by the fire throughout spring break and they have completed all necessary work.  As such, the Vancouver School District, in consultation with the building remediation team, has informed me that the Van Horne Elementary School building is ready to be re-occupied by our school community.

All classes will resume in our Van Horne Elementary school building on Monday, April 8.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR FAMILIES AND STUDENTS:

• Students should bring home all their supplies/equipment/lunch bags/clothes/shoes etc. on or before Friday, April 5 (follow each teacher’s directions on this). We will not have access to the South Hill swing site after Friday.
• Friday, April 5 will be the last day of bussing service.
• All afterschool programs will of course take place at their scheduled days and times at the Van Horne site once we move back

I am pleased that we can move back to Van Horne and I will be working with the School District to support our school staff and community during the move and transition back to Van Horne.
